Tensile strength test – mild steel and hysd bar
Two vises apply tension to a specimen by pulling at it, stretching the specimen until it fractures. In other words, tensile strength resists tension (being pulled apart), whereas compressive strength resists compression (being pushed together). Ultimate tensile strength is measured by the maximum stress that a material can withstand while being stretched or pulled before breaking. Mild Steel is general purpose steel grade, basically used for remelting, alloying and maufacturing of fabrication of various structures. The Steel generally made of low Carbon and Silicon. The yield strenght values are very low for Mild Steel, as the name suggest. Therefore it is not used for special purpose of reincforcing and heavy strcuture manufcaturing.Where as, HYSD is High Yield Strength Deformed B.
